And here he is.....

So, I would like you all to meet my fiance', Rob Miller. I know, I know, I kept him a secret for a very long time. Besides my family and a few close friends, hardly anyone knew we were even dating. We met through our singles ward earlier this year and started dating in June. We actually met through FHE, which my Bishop credits himself with cuz he extended the calling to me in March. Way to go Bishop. :)

So, here's the details. He is from California, 29 years old, served a mission in Jacksonville, Florida, divorced with a darling 3 year old daughter. He works for Overhead Garage doors as their Service Manager. So, if you need any garage door help you know who to contact. :) Can't help but advertise for him. (hehehe)

We love to fish up in Pine Valley (or anywhere we can ditch the heat in SG), so on Aug. 27th he took me up to Pine Valley to measure a garage door for a job and to do a little fishing. On our way up he told me he wanted to marry me right now, so instead we decided we'd choose a date that would be a little more sutible for all of our family and friends to attend. :) Honestly, we randomly chose Dec. 5th and went on with our night. He kept teasing me about the date while we were fishing, but as we got closer back to town he took me to my parents house to go "talk" with them. I started to have a little inkling of an idea that he was going to propose in the near future. I just had NO clue it was going to play out exactly the way it did all that night. :) We were with my parents for a couple of hours talking, crying, and laughing. It was such a nice visit and my parents gave us a lot of great advice on marriage, etc. We left and Rob took me to the lot I had purchased in Ivins earlier this year. (the following pics are from the next morning, cuz this all happened around midnight) :)

We pulled up to the lot and he said, "Wait here just a minute". He was out lighting all the candles in a big circle. Unfortunately, there was a wind that night and they kept blowing out. He got me out of the car and was totally frustrated with the wind, I was trying not to laugh cuz it was pretty funny. He would get one lit and go to the next and the first one would blow out. Finally he said, "Oh, forget this. Pretend like all these candles are lit". He had them in a big ring and knelt in the middle. (We have this inside joke with Johnny Cash, Walk the Line, and the Burning Ring of Fire). He said, "This is my burning ring of fire". I started laughing, but it was so cute. He took my hand and asked me to marry him and put the ring on my finger. Apparently I didn't answer quickly enough cuz he started to take it off. When I asked him why he was taking the ring off he said, "cuz you haven't answered me yet". So, I repeatedly said yes, and he put the gorgeous ring back on. :) Then he stood up and hugged me and told me he had been thinking about where he wanted to propose for a while now. He said the lot was the place because that is where our future is. That is where our home is going to be, our kids will grow up, and where we'll grow old together. I thought it was so sweet and well thought out. We talked and hugged and kissed for a while at the lot, then we had to leave to go tell my parents. I was too excited. Actually, it all felt so surreal. I seriously just kept waiting for it to not be real or something. We caught my parents just getting ready for bed, and I think surprised them pretty good as well. I don't think they were thinking it was going to happen as quickly, either. :) And of course I called MinDee (cuz her lights were on when he proposed so I knew she was still awake). She didn't believe us at all, so we had to go up by her house to show her the ring also. The next morning was lots of phone calls to family and friends.

What a crazy weekend that was spreading all the news. So there it is, I am ENGAGED!!! We are planning Dec. 5th, 2009. Keep it on your calendars, and PLEASE leave your address in the comments section so I can get an announcement to you!! :)

I love Rob and can't wait to spend our lives together. He is a good man. He is funny and always keeps me laughing. He has such a great spirit and a desire to do good. He is so loving and always makes me feel special and loved. I am so blessed to have him in my life. I can't wait for all the adventures we have a head of us!!
